This is the closest yarn shop to where I live, so I find myself popping over there every now and then despite my better judgment. They do have a lot of selection (including Koigu!) but I find the overall atmosphere sub par. Every time I have gone there I've never been greeted or helped in a friendly manner. In fact the woman (it's always the same one, so I assume it's the owner?) working usually just stands at the cash register and watches me like a hawk as I peruse the store. It ends up making me feel very uncomfortable and most times I end up leaving before buying anything. The biggest slap in the face was recently I was there, and there was another (older) customer in the store. And the owner was perfectly friendly and helpful with the other customer, but did not offer to help me once. I love the selection, and the location. But the place generally makes me feel so cold that I regret even giving them any business. :/

Yes, that happened to me as well, I've been there a few times and now I've stopped going.

Interesting comments.
I am from another province but travel on business to a nearby location. I make a point of going in on each occasion and have never come away empty handed. I have had great help, even to assist me when I first started knitting to transform a stitch pattern from a Market bag to a toddler sweater - the end product was awesome.
I'm going back to Calgary next week and the shop is on my itinerary.
