Beautiful store set on an alpaca ranch. Lovely sculpture garden. Nice selection of brand names and locally spun fiber. Spinning and felting are also done here.

A gorgeous setting! Beautiful yarn and CONES of yarn that you won't find at yarn stores around Austin. There's a big round table to knit and browse at, a really helpful and friendly staff, and a very warm feel to it. I wish I lived closer; this would be my fiber home if it was.

This place is magical - wonderful array of yarns, lots of classes (needle-felting, rug hooking, wet-felting, spinning, weaving, etc.) There is even a gorgeous sculpture garden and alpacas in the pasture. What more could you want? It is worth the drive from... anywhere!

Wow! I'm moving to that area soon and look forward to hanging out at Old Oaks. Could do with a bit more on the novelty side for yarn but they have everything else covered. I loved the fact that Anne instructed my husband to go look at the Alpacas while we talked yarn. This store moved me (joyfully) toward spinning fever. Very personable staff and a great place to dream up new ideas. Can't wait to make it my LYS!

I've only been to Old Oaks once on a trip to Texas last winter (I live in Minnesota). No lie, we drove through the gates and I was in love from the first... alpacas roaming around, a sculpture garden to entertain my husband and Shih Tzu puppy while I thoroughly enjoyed the shop and everyone inside! I walked in, stopped and said, "I have died and gone to Heaven right here in the middle of Texas!" To which a lovely woman said, "Honey, I said the same thing the first time I walked in here!" Everyone was so welcoming, the yarn selection was beautiful, spinning supplies/wheels, classrooms, everyting. If I lived in the area this would be my pick for my favorite LYS. I bought a few cones of alpaca from the alpacas we visited outside (they have names on them so you know which alpaca you're buying yarn from). And the prices were incredible! This is heaven on earth!

Charming, charming well stocked yarn emporium with side interest in weaving. Sculpture garden too and alpaca on site. Well worth the short drive to find it. Phone first? Personally, I can't wait to go back!

We sent you an email last spring sharing our desire to learn how to spin and die yarn. You said that you had such classes. We will be in Blanco Texas by Jan 6 and will be there till Feb. 15th.
We will be able to attend classes with you on how to die yarn and spin yarn. Both my husband and I are very interested in starting to learn this skill.
Please let me know how we can sign up for the classes and cost.

Stopped by Jan. 3, 2012. What a find!! The service and selection was wonderful. I enjoyed the short time I spent there: I spent too much money!!!! LOL Not really. I purchased some of the most luscious yarn ever. I will return as soon as I get another break.
Thanks for the hospitality and service.
