Needle Craft World has a lot more than just cross stitch.
they sell a lot of knitting yarn and accessories too.
they are open late on Monday nights and have knitting nights & classes. The new web site is www.needlecraftworld.net. the service is very friendly and helpful.

Hi,

My name is Sheila and I live in the U.K.

On the 29th April we are coming on vacation in Davenport, and I was wondering if it would be possible to send a list of threads which I require for a project. I need approx 100 skeins all together and 31 of which are black dmc 310. I could e-mail a list with the dmc numbers. We are staying for 1 month so if you would rather I wait till we arrive then I understand, I just thought it would be easier to pre order and I could just call and pick them up. could you please advise me on the best course of action.

Knitting is growing, growing, growing here.
Plymouth & Berroco are the biggest here...but als yarns by Shaefer, Red Barn, SWTC, and Northwest...just added some JoJoland, Classic Elite, and some other small companies. Needles by ChiaGoo, Hiya Hiya, Plymouth and oh, I forget...
Classes to come. Group on Monday night....coffee almost always in the pot.

I was visiting from SC and Cathy, the owner and the other lady who worked there made me feel so welcome. My husband was even invited in to find a comfortable spot to wait for me. When I went to the back table where some ladies were knitting, they also were so warm and welcoming! It made me wish I lived closer to this group! Cathy was helping one lady work on a drop stitch shawl which I had never seen actually being done so they didn't mind that I stayed to see how it was done. I will definitely make this a must stop when I am in town!

I love visiting Cathy and her shop when I'm in Kissimmee (which is at least once a year.) Cathy is so welcoming and friendly that it's a treat just to walk through the door. (And her little dog is really cute, too. )

She doesn't have a large selection but it's excellant. You can tell that each yarn has had to earn a coveted spot on her shelves. Plus she has the most excellent trunk shows on display! In December I got to see completed projects from Vogue's Fall issue and in February she had Noni's lovely felted purses on display.

If you can only get to one shop while you're in Kissimmee, I recommend this one.

I am coming to Florida on Sat 24th November and require some Dimension Threads to finished a cross stitch for someone but there are hardly any threads. Do you stock Dimension Treads. Thanks.

Hi Margaret,
Dimensions doesn't sell their threads outside of their kits. I can help you request them from the company, or do a close substitution with DMC.

I visited this shop during the Orange Blossom Yarn Crawl, and boy, I found a wonderful shop! Based on the name, I thought I'd spend 10-15 minutes here, because I thought it would be mostly embroidery stuff. I ended up staying almost 2 hours! I pulled up almost an hour before opening, and Cathy saw me sitting in my car, opened the front door and waved me in. How awesome is that?

Like someone says above, the yarn that she carries, she stocks for a reason. She knows her yarn! I bought way more yarn than I intended, I just kept finding more gems! And I think I came away with 3 or 4 patterns for that yarn, too!

This store is worth the trek for me from the Tampa area, as a treat when I have some spare time. I'll be back!
