Annoying that they have no website, but this is a good old-fashioned shop stuffed floor-to-ceiling with lots of yarn. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful.

If the staff really likes you they'll give you a coupon for 1 EUR off your next purchase from them.

You get the 1 euro coupon if you purchase for more than 30 euros worth of yarn. The staff is very nice and helpful, and it's a nice place to get your yarn fix.

I was in Helsinki a few times on business trips and I don't speak finnish. I went to Menita a few times and they were always nice and helpful.

I've been here quite a few times when visiting Helsinki. The staff are lovely and helpful and they have an interesting selection including what I think is Icelandic yarn that's quite unspun - like thin roving almost.

The Icelandic wool you found is called Lopi. Menita carries also many Scandinavian-made wools, sockyarns from several makers and also Rowan yarns.
They have a selection of other needlecraft, like tapestries, too.
