Nice shop but the opening hours mean that I can only visit it during the weekends. Gets packed on a Saturday so I try to go on Sundays instead. Managed to get on one of their classes after 2 attempts - their booking process was a little haphazard and the class was expensive for what it was.

Iwas in London in the fall of 2007. Found the Loop, but wan't too impressed with the stock. Addi knitting needles are a great price though. The staff was quite helpful.

Loop is OK but not really worth all the hype. The only reason that I shopped here is because I used to live in Islington and Loop was on the way home from work and it was easy to nip in and pick up supplies. Otherwise, I wouldn't have made the trip. It is a cute little store and the decor is quaint, but it is hard to find what you want, items are arranged haphazardly, the store is extremely small and crowded, so it is hard to browse, and the staff is OK but not especially helpful. They seem standoffish and bored. When i go to an LYS, I expect the staff to be excited about their products. However, the Loop books - Loop Pretty Knits and Loop Vintage Crochet, are WONDERFUL books that grace my coffee table and contain beautiful designs. I like the books but I prefer purchasing my yarn elsewhere, at a discount.

I love Loop! They have a lot of unusual yarns that I may have heard about or seen on the net but just to be able to walk in and see and touch these gems is fabulous. I've always found the people that work there really helpful and friendly. Thumbs up from me and my friends.

I love Loop too and it's my favourite shop- not just for knitting but to see all the beautiful things they find from designers who make great things using knit and crochet. I've always found the staff super frinedly and helpful. There's loads of things there I've never seen anywhere else and it's just a great shop full of a unique things and a great atmosphere. That's hard to find in London, not just for knitting but in general.

Thumbs up for loop from me too. Considering the size of the shop it's jam packed with interesting yarns as well as a lot of standard simple ones like debbie bliss and rowan that are the same prices as everywhere else. They're obviously into yarn in a big way and have always taken the time, busy or not, to help me find good substitutes for my projects. They're great and it has a lovely atmsophere.

I found loop a store for people who like coffee table knitting rather than real knitting. The yarn selection is ok but nothing special and it is much too small. Staff aren't particularly helpful

I visited London recently and this was on my list of yarn shops to visit. I originally wasn't that excited, having read some okay reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! The staff are very friendly and helpful (and love to chatter), they sprinted up and down the stairs to check for stock, I got some of my yarn wound for free (would've had all of it wound if my dad wasn't falling asleep in the chair outside) and they have a great selection of quality yarns.
If I had to put my finger on something, it was that the books weren't organised very well and that some of the stock (esp. in Rowan) seemed low, but those were minor things - I can get Rowan at home, so it was mostly to check out colours. I can definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a cozy, warm, quality yarn shop!

This shop cheers me up every time I visit, it is an apealing space even when rammed full of fiber fetishists on a Saturday.
In my experience the staff are unfailingly pleasant, actively engaged and engaging. Having not needed to pester them for help (to date) I can't comment on that aspect of customer service. I just potter and chat if they are not crazy busy.
I tend make a decision on what I want to make and look at the website before I go to check that they have what I want. This approach limits my habit of making impulse purchases from their wide selection of tempting highend yarn.
The two classes I have attended delivered exactly what they promised.

I liked the flair of the shop and thought they had some interesting yarn but I didn't particularly think that the staff was helpful, or indeed, welcoming.

Nice shop, good selection of interesting wool, especially some lovely and very expensive sock wool that I just had to buy. We went on a Saturday and it was packed but they were friendly and helpful and my friend even managed to persuade them to turn her skein into a ball which they only usually do during the week when it is quieter.

There are many genre's in Rock n Roll and Loop rocks in a different way to our shop - like your sisters do...
Loop has a fantastic selection of luxurious yarns and it is in a great location. We look forward to our visits where we buy Aldi needles and other things which we don't stock.
Loop is run by the lovely Susan, who is passionate about colour and style.
A new little something from Loop, casting on over a coffee in Islington is a lovely day out.
