This is their corporate headquarters. No store here (move along!).

Lion Brand is in the process of opening their flagship store, which I believe is going to be at this location (Union Square).

The service was excellent here, and they have a good selection of LionBrand yarns and accessories. It's very open and bright, not your usual cramped LYS.

This was the first YS I visited when i picked up knitting again a few months back. Beautiful beautiful store. However, I would probably go only for the LB Collection (besides Habu Textiles, they're the only brand of stainless steel wool I've seen) and colors you cannot find at Michaels. They also carry Hiya Stainless Steel Needles, my favorite 16 inch circular needles by far.
The rest of the products are sold at chain craft stores and probably at a discount.

Very disappointing. The store clerks were high school girls who didn't know enough to help me. Nobody asked if I needed help. There was a group at the table in the middle of the store so it seems they got first-class service. I visited this store, thinking it would have the colors that my local store do not. This is not the case. They do have swatches of all the colors but the swatches are not long enough to see the variegated yarns fully and the girls couldn't figure them out. I visited twice. They have a cash only register and a credit only register but you only know that when you get to the front and then have to wait in the other line. I was able to order on the instore computer for certain colors but the computer stopped midway so I had to call on the store phone and start my order all over again. Then the computer was fixed so I hung up and did the computer thing again. I use a cane and asked for a chair while waiting in line and when I was ordering on the computer but there were no chairs. I did not visit this store when I went to NYC again. Very disappointing and small. The catalogue gives a different impression.

Went to an event there with the woman who wrote Cowlgirls. What a fun night. The store itself is beautifully done with an always interesting front window. Attnetive and knowledgable staff, computers to lool up and print out pattenrs on the Lion Brand website.
Just a short and very pleasant walk from the LIRR.
Great offerings for classes and learning projects too. Tremendous selection of yarn.

Just posted a review of this store and recommendations for fun places to go in the neighborhood, if you'd like more information

Good atmosphere and service however, there needs to be more than just acrylic and a few skeins of cashmere.
