This is a store with a great selection, BUT the store is way too small for this great & large selection. It is a narrow store & with all the selection, you have to make sure that you don't knock anything over if you are carrying a bag. The last time I was there (8/07), there was yarn displayed clear to the ceiling. The owner was helping a customer knit at the table in the back which makes navigating through the back of the store VERY difficult. I sat on the floor to look through a bin of sock yarn & kept bumping into the other customers purse that was sitting on the floor. I can't imagine how crowded the store is when there is an actual class going on. Other than the size issue, the store is great!

This has been a favorite shop for a long time. The selection of yarns are to die for! The owner is amazingly talented. Not only does she have a killer eye for color....there is no pattern that she can not figure out. I do wish the shop was bigger but that is because I am greedy and want to see what other fabulous yarns she can get me hooked on! I highly recommend this shop.

it seems that STRING, A KNITTING BOUTIQUE has closed up shop. they have taken their site off KnitMap and probably will be liquidating their inventory and closing the business. they have had some real management problems over the past year and the overheads in Highlands Ranch are just too high to turn a profit. too bad. String, Strang, Strung. bye bye

I was just in String this last week, there are NO signs
of closing and in fact, it was very busy the morning I was in. I don't think your comment is correct. I also have checked their website and they have added new items and classes to it just recently at stringboutique.com. That is very rude thing to post if it is not true.

Well, for the second time in 4 days, the STRING BOUTIQUE has taken itself off the Denver knitting knitmap list. What is it hiding???

The psycho who keeps posting incorrect information about String. Are you 'strung" or just "strange"? You need to see a "string" of docs to get the help you obviously require to function in the real world, not your "reality". Do you hear voices that tell you these things about String? Peace be with you.
I love going to the Knitty Cat. You can tell Ann is passionate about her knitting and her yarn. You can probably find what you need at the Knitty Cat. As far as String is concerned "They are old news and have totally isolated themselves from the knitting community. I am waiting for the fire sale when it closes the doors. Too bad because it use to be a pretty good store but management changed recently, teachers have quit, business is slow and regular customers are no longer welcomed. Shame shame.

UPDATE: for the third time in 6 days, the STRING BOUTIQUE has taken itself off the KnitMap list (check for yourself). If they can't even keep a shop lising up on KnitMap, how in the world can they keep a real store open? Symptomatic of that shop, isn't it? (in addition to calling their knitting customers "gaggles of gossipy women") hmmm, why would they treat their customers that way? No way to run a shop IMHO.

You are doing this store a huge favor by posting for them on other local lists and a huge disservice to all the other stores in town by bogging up their commentary. Get a life maybe?
