This is a store with a great selection, BUT the store is way too small for this great & large selection. It is a narrow store & with all the selection, you have to make sure that you don't knock anything over if you are carrying a bag. The last time I was there (8/07), there was yarn displayed clear to the ceiling. The owner was helping a customer knit at the table in the back which makes navigating through the back of the store VERY difficult. I sat on the floor to look through a bin of sock yarn & kept bumping into the other customers purse that was sitting on the floor. I can't imagine how crowded the store is when there is an actual class going on. Other than the size issue, the store is great!

This has been a favorite shop for a long time. The selection of yarns are to die for! The owner is amazingly talented. Not only does she have a killer eye for color....there is no pattern that she can not figure out. I do wish the shop was bigger but that is because I am greedy and want to see what other fabulous yarns she can get me hooked on! I highly recommend this shop.

I love going to the Knitty Cat. You can tell Ann is passionate about her knitting and her yarn. You can probably find what you need at the Knitty Cat. As far as String is concerned "They are old news and have totally isolated themselves from the knitting community. I am waiting for the fire sale when it closes the doors. Too bad because it use to be a pretty good store but management changed recently, teachers have quit, business is slow and regular customers are no longer welcomed. Shame shame.

Very happy we stopped in during our Denver stay. The owner was on vacay, but her Mom was filling in and was more than happy to call her on her cell with any unanswered questions. The selection is lovely and I found the display just fine (contrary to another reviewer). I liked the ambiance; there are two very comfy chairs to lounge in (or have husband chill in) and a table to knit around. Nice selection varying from premium pricey skeins, to meat & potatoes necessities. Lots of shop samples to give you ideas as well.
