I wish they didn't carry the ggh yarn I love that you can't find anywhere else, because I would give them a lower score. Because the staff is just plain nasty! I was in there and this poor older woman from Germany was trying to find a particular yarn to finish a project and they were about as helpful as tits on a bull. She asked about other shops and they WOULD NOT EVEN OPEN THEIR MOUTHS to deign to suggest actually going somewhere else. My mom and I finally interjected and told her every single other store in the Valley to try. My mom even drew a MAP to other locations, much to the chagrin of the ladies at Knitting in Scottsdale. I'm sorry - not every knitting store can POSSIBLY carry every yarn. What each store carries is up to the discretion of the owner. If someone wants something OTHER than what you carry, too bad! You made a choice and so did the customer. I used to work at Borders and if we didn't have a title, we would CALL BARNES and NOBLE for the customer!!! Get over yourselves, ladies, or else you won't be doing any Knitting in Scottsdale for much longer.

The last time I was in Knitting in Scottsdale, I walked in the store and it was 15 minutes before anyone even acknowleged I was there. There was a table of women knitting and talking and the owner was hovering around them. I made eye contact several times, but no one approached me. I got the impression that only the inside crowd matters much to the owners. Usually when I come to a yarn shop with my knitting bag in hand, I'm there not just to buy yarn but to chat with other knitters, see what others are making, show off my WIP's and just connect. That is not going to happen at Knitting in Scottsdale. Sure, they have some hard-to-find yarns, but I'd rather buy on line than give them my business.
