THE best yarn shop in Atlanta. If you only have time to hit one shop, this is the one not to miss. Very, very customer service oriented, beautiful space, knowledgeable staff, gorgeous yarns, awesome owner.

This is the yarn store of your dreams. Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings, lots of space to sit and knit, very welcoming crowd of regulars, all the yarn you're looking for, loads of nice accessories, coffee, classes and it's all in a cool neighborhood. If you come anywhere near Atlanta, make time to visit [and don't miss the upstairs for a huge noro section, spinning and felting supplies, a dye kitchen and felting area and another big sit and knit area!] I drive 180 miles round trip to hang out here nearly every weekend, it's that great.

The very best yarn shop in Atlanta, hands down. Do not miss this shop. I moved away from Atlanta and miss it terribly!

I love this shop! I live about 3 hours away and when I'm visiting my sister I always make sure to stop by.

Just finished the Shop Hop. This shop was by far the most friendly and accomodating shop I visited. I could have spent the day there. I will return

I love this shop! I've been to all the shops in the Atlanta area and this one is tops in selction and service. Every time I visit there's something new to experience, the displays change frequently so I'm always inspired and you can just sit and chill with other knitters without feeling rushed. The staff is always helpful and they'll even wind your yarn for you! This is THE shop in Atlanta.

i'd rate this shop at a 5 in all categories. It's a little hard to find a parking spot but well worth the effort once inside!

This is THE yarn shop of all yarn shops. It involves a pretty drive through some of the more scenic neighborhoods down in Atlanta and is in a charming location. Everyone loves Knitch. They even have their own flavor of coffee, available complimentary or you can buy some to take home.

Hmm. My experience with Knitch has been less favorable, which is too bad because I really wanted to love it. It's a lovely store and the products are well presented, but the staff seem to be (dare I say it?) a bit snobbish. Perhaps it's just me (and my friends, and my mom, who've had similar experiences): I've seen them give really good customer service to others, but they have pretty much ignored me every time I've been in there. My impression after 5 or 6 visits* is that, if you don't look like their idea of a knitter (whatever it may be) or are not going to spend hundreds of dollars all at once, then you don't exist and they will only reluctantly make eye contact with you, if you physically corner them. (And no, I don't have these sorts of problems at any other LYS.)
I wish I loved Knitch, because it's within walking distance of my home, but personally, I don't. YMMV, of course. Shopping for yarn should be fun, and somehow every time I've gone there I wind up feeling like an unwelcome outsider.
*I'm a slow learner, I guess. :-)

Wow, Moria! I'm at Knitch at least three times a week and I can assure you that I've never seen any of the staffers ignore anyone...they race to help! I regularly sit with knitters who are young, old, many colors and sizes and a few men so I think everyone looks like a knitter to those at Knitch. I'd urge you to give them another try.

I agree with the post above. I really feel welcome at Knitch and they give me great advice. I was unused to getting help at a LYS so it took me a bit to get comfortable with how helpful the folks at Knitch are as so many other shops in Atlanta won't help you at all unless you take a class. The knit nights are especially great...lots of new people each week! I love this shop!

I have to agree with Moria. My experiences weren't great either. I felt the same way about the staff. It is a beautiful store but I'm not looking for beauty. I needed help picking out a project and couldn't get it. Parking was a nightmare. I won't be going back.

I think I've died and gone to yarn heaven! I visited Knitch for the first time today and it was truly one of the best (if not THE best) yarn shop I've ever visited. I found yarns I had only seen online including some really beautiful handdyed cashmere for a special project. The employees were really helpful and very knowledgeable. I got help quickly even though the shop was really busy. I'll be back every chance I get!

Awesome, yarn store. Nell and Kim are the best and give the best advice. The largest inventory of yarn and spinning supplies that I have ever experienced.

I went to Knitch last August when I was visiting Atlanta. From the minute I walked in the door I was treated like an old friend, invited to sit and knit on the Big Sock. The store was filled with wonderful temptations. I've stayed in touch with some of the very nice people that I met on that one Friday evening, and when I go back to Atlanta, I'll definitely make a return trip. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm a Knitch regular -- it is truly my home away from home. I'd rather knit there--and shop there--than anywhere. It has spoiled me for all other yarn shops. I used to get so excited to seek out yarn stores in cities that I visited. Now, I'm just sure that they're not going to compare (I still go, of course). Kim, Nell, Stephanie, Lois, Marissa, June, Judith--and all the staff--are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet anywhere. They have exquisite taste in yarn, and are always there to help. And they're always having so much fun--it must be being around all that fabulous fiber that puts them in such good moods. Find your way to Knitch and you will find yourself in knitting heaven.

I spent more time trying to find a place to park than I did shopping. If you're looking for atmosphere, this place is nice. As far as yarn selection - I didn't see anything here that I couldn't find elsewhere. Prices were a bit high too.

I love Knitch. I go to the Thursday group and it feeds my soul for the rest of the week! Parking is easy at the church across the street.

I visited Knitch over Memorial Day weekend. I've never seen anything quite like this shop...great yarns, super friendly staff, toys for my kids, free (yummy) coffee. I wish I lived closer, I'd go all the time!

IT is really hard to find parking here. I think they have high priced yarn, lots of solid colors. Website ordering. They have a large selection of noro upstairs. Lots of beautiful fibers; malibrigo, rowan, artyarn. Cottons, linen, hemp, some silks, cashmeres, large space, lots of spaces to sit and knit. It is very busy on the weekends though, so you may have to wait for service. Many classes offered.

Wow. I went to Knitch yesterday and was blown away by how nice everyone was. We were visiting from St. Louis and we felt like we were at our LYS. Great selection, good prices, so helpful. So glad we stopped.
