I was ignored for the 45 minutes I was in there shopping. I was even ignored by the lady checking out my purchases. I was pushed past for someone to stock the shelves and no one said anything to me. While they had a good selection and are closer, I will not go back. Other friends of mine have had similar experiences here.

Wow, That's amazing. I've been to this shop several times, driving an hour to get there. I'm always warmly welcomed (even when they didn't know me). I've taken excellent classes there, nibbled on some wonderful cookies and enjoyed visiting with the owner. She is kind and warm and a gifted knitter and teacher.

I love the shop. They have helped modifying a design, picked appropriate yarn, and are, in general, very friendly. I, too, drive one hour because I know the people and the yarn selection are the best.

I am amazed that you had a bad experience at the store. They are always so wonderful.

Amazing variety of yarns, but the one time I went, I had trouble getting anybody to wait on me, and never could get help with patterns. I haven't been back.

I go to this shop fairly often because it's the closest to me that's not a chain, but it's still a hike... 45 min's. My experiences have been mixed. I really like the owner who has always been friendly and helpful; she's always remembered my name, even on my second visit. I also like a couple of ladies who teach classes, they've been helpful as well. However, most of the other people working for her tend to be more stand-offish and less helpful. I've been worked and talked around, too, giving me the feeling that it's more important to get the yarn on the shelves than to talk to me and try selling it to me. The workers do help me when I go to them and ask for help, but they tend to avoid eye contact and rarely take the initiative to come to me.

I like to go here when I'm in Tampa, but I've only been a few times. The staff was great with helping me pick out yarn for a scarf, so I haven't had the issues described above.

My visit here was so-so. One of the ladies was extremely polite and helpful when I asked her a direct question and the yarns are beautiful. However, for most of my visit I was ignored or downright glared out (especially when I ventured too close to the classrooms; hey I was just curious!). Will I go back? More than likely. Will I go back b/c this store stocks something I really really can't live without (and can't get online) and have to have it right then? That would probably be my main reason.

I agree with some of the previous opinions. I also have had mixed service levels. At times it's great, other times it seems that they don't have enought time for you. But overall I would not discourage people from visiting this store.

My husband and I visited the store. All staff members were very helpful and the ladies who were knitting around the table were gracious and invited us back. I wished we lived closer!!! Oh, the store carried the yarn and needles that I was looking for!!

This is a great shop and has a very wide selection. When I am traveling I try to find yarns I cannot get at my LYS or yarn by local dyers. I was able to get some great fibers and a few things for my knitty friends at home.

I enjoyed my visit to this shop. I was impressed with the selection, the attention, and the service. I found several items I was looking for, and got assistance selecting a pattern and alternate yarn. Didn't get a chance to sit, knit, and nibble on this visit, but I certainly will on a future trip, as I visit Tampa frequently. I really liked seeing all the knit-up examples from their classes and general yarn use. There wasn't a class going at the time I was there, but both my mom and I were made to feel welcome and got plenty of offers for assistance.

My experience at this store won't have me coming back. For a moment I was afraid that I was invisible, even though two employees were working and talking in my vicinity. No one spoke to me as I entered, and I browsed for ten minutes without being spoken to. I walked out of the store - and wasn't spoken to on leaving, either. I drove all the way north to Citrus Park to Fibre Arts, where your patronage is greatly appreciated and service is tops.

I agree that service is mixed. The owner tends to be very nice to customers, but I have a feeling the mixed service comes in with the rest of her staff and customers. I feel like they whole-heartedly disregard crafters of the younger generations. I also have been ignored, pushed past, and had service that was admittedly indifferent. I also feel like they push upselling a bit too much. I've had not only my projects glared at for being "weird" but I've had my things moved out of my seat by other customers, who then proceeded to take my seat. As a younger knitter, I'd suggest Roz at Fibre Arts in Odessa because she's a doll and loves absolutely everyone. She also doesn't charge to wind your hanks.
