I was desperately searching for Bernat Worsted Pale Pink Yarn--and this wonderful shop found it and shipped it to me! I couldn't finish my project without it, so you imagine how happy I was!

You might want to check the store hours before leaving home. We stopped by today, Sunday December 14, 2008, and found they are now closed on Sundays:(

A great shop for an experienced knitter carrying a wide range of beautiful yarns but their salesclerks are not experienced knitters and cannot provide reliable advice.

I was given a gift certificate for this store, while brousing I saw two projects made up and on display. I now own the patterns for them and am well on my way to knitting them. Love this store.....

I have been associated with this store for many years as it evolved from a very small store to this and have always found the salesclerks to go above and beyond. It maintains a very high standard.I feel very lucky to have it right in my midst and I do not have to travel to visit.

I too was excited to go and explore this store this past Sunday, but was very disappointed when I showed up to a closed store. They are also closed during the evening. Not great hours for a working mom.

I will never shop in this store again, let me start out by saying I buy ALOT of yarn and tried to return some cheap yarn i had purchased for a throw that my son could toss in washer. after having a better look at home decided that it was not suitable. I was busy loading my basket ( this time with very high end yarn about $400 dollars worth ) when one of the girls told me they would not be returning as it smelled somewhat of smoke. Now keep in mind the returned yarn was worth about $40, needless to say I put my basket down and left the store. I understand smoke bothers some but if they won't return if anyone in household smokes then it should be clearly stated at cash. So they refused a $40 dollar return but lost a customer that spends thousands every year on yarn

I love the samples in this store. The samples are labeled with pattern name and yarn. Along with a approximate cost. It makes shopping easier for beginners and can inspire others. The staff are also very helpful.

This store is mind boggingly awesome. I could (and have) spent hours just wandering and not feeling pressured as you do in some smaller shops. They have so many sample knit up! Another thing I like is that they have patterns by individual knitters made up and the pattern available. Lots of different needles, and notions. SO many books and patterns. Wonderful selection of yarns! I will admit that they are a little more expensive than other places!

I find the selection improving all the time but the store hours are NOT good. There are no evening or Sunday hours. Not a great retail philosophy for the working customer.

Hi there...I am looking for a ball of wool that knits up into a scarf and goes all curly as you knit it up...can you tell me the name of it..
Thanks so much

The new hours are seriously inconvenient for working knitters, and have caused the cancellation of the Wednesday evening group. This is a regrettable turn of events for this store, and does not bode well for their future as an LYS.

I came into your website to get the address etc of your store when I saw there is a comment section and read all of the comments.
The lady that wrote in and was upset because you would not allow a return of smoke smelling yarn I would say GOOD FOR YOU. You are supposed to return goods in the same condition they were purchased and they were NOT purchased smelling of smoke.
I am looking forward to my first visit to the store this week and you may have lost an
unreasonable customer but you will have gained a new one.

I can't believe they changed the hours I live in Barrie, work in Toronto, by
the time I get home the store is closed or is closing. What happened to
the Wednesday night classes, I have popped in on several occasions to
get some help with patterns. Staff is super friendly. Would be awsome
if the store was open at least one night a week. Saturdays sometimes just
out of the question.

Hi Kerry,
Hope you are all well - I am looking for a copy of Jabobean Rhapodies -I have signed up for a course at the Bideford Art Centre thats in Devon U.K this is the book the class are working from - but there are no more copies over here.
If you can locate a copy for me I have a CIBC account.

My sister and I made our annual visit to your store in Sept. We do not live in Barrie. You had a beautiful grey sweater hanging near the front of your store made from Sirdar Sequin yarn. At the time you did not have the pattern in or enough of the yarn. I was wondering if it is in yet and do you send yarn in the mail? Thank you in advance

The grey sequin yarn is King Cole Galaxy Dk. As of right now we have the black, grey and white in stock. We also have the pattern in stock.
We can certainly ship the yarn for you. Please call the store to arrange payment and shipping. Hope to see you again!
Cheers,
Kelly

I also agree with the comments about the yarn smelling of smoke! I will be near Barrie in a couple of weeks and now, will definitely make the trip to check out your yarn! Good Job!
