When visiting Charleston I always have to stop into Knit and see what is new. Love the location, next to the Wentworth Street Parking garage! I also love the welcoming feel to the store with the overstuffed couches and love seats, sheep motiff and warm southern charm. They were very busy when I came for a visit this time and only had one staff member, but I found they have a great selection in sock yarns, books, but lacked a little in the needle department. Overall a great store to visit when you are in this lovely town!

I love the selection at knit, but always feel a little intimidated by the help there. Don't know why.

They have a fantastic collection of yarn, but I did not feel at all welcome in this store. It seems they dote on their regulars but pay very little attention to the new faces. At least that's the impression I got. Parking is also terrible for this store since it is downtown Charleston. One visit was plenty for me.

I've had the unfortunate experience of being treated poorly at several yarn stores, because I didn't look like I would spend hundreds of dollars. But at Knit-- they were so friendly, and knowledgable! The selection and atmosphere were great!

Finally made it there today. The front room had a nice group knitting away and what seemed like a big book selection. The shelves were tucked behind the chairs & I didn't want to disturb them to see. The yarn selection was very nice with some lovely project samples around the store. They have a good amount of variety including a lot of multicolor yarns which I can't seem to resist! :) Though it was busy, they asked me if I needed anything & checked back on me more than once. Definiely somewhere I will go to again!

I made my first trip to Charleston last week and had to check out the shop. Parking is atrocious, and the shop itself is very crowded and hard to maneuver. They had a lot of yarns, but were crammed into shelves, so if you pulled out one color, you probably pulled out another 6 you didn't want. This was an ok shop for me, but not one I'll make an effort to visit again.
