Atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired here, as the rooms in this shop are dark and small. The books, in particular, are hard to brouse unless you get down on your hands and knees. That being said, they have some beautiful yarns and sometimes good service as well. Definitely worth checking out.

Service here has taken a definite downturn since my last posting. I won't be patronizing this store any longer.

Well, since I like dark, hardwood floor, intimate kinda yarn stores I dig it. I also like the enormous amount of natural light--it's a converted house so there's way more windows than a usual LYS. It's also one of the only places in town where you can get some spinning supplies. Lynn is very supportive of knitters (and spinners) and the community at large. It's my fave favorite in Tucson.

Yes, it's my favorite in Tucson too! I loved the classes I've Taken at Kiwi Knitting, and I've always found that Lynn and the other employees there are friendly, but also let people browse to their heart's content without hovering over them. In summation: nice yarn, nice people, good midtown location near the university with a cozy cottage atmosphere.

I think this place leaves a lot to be desired. I've never found the staff to be helpful going from uniformed to rude. It's a very cliquish feeling in the store making one want to turn around and walk right back out the door. Patrons and staff just stare at customers they don't know.
