Let me state that I hated Skeins! Ltd., the previous store that made its home in this location. Since Hilltop East opened, however, my opinion has greatly changed. I have often been able to find just what I am looking for here. They do not display all their yarn, so I have often been able to find enough yarn for my project(s) in their backstock. They have also been kind enough to special order purse handles and other items for me upon request.

I liked the store, but when I first went in I was asked "do you knit?". Was treated like a child (I have been knitting for 38 years). When I went to pay for the yarn, the woman at the register said "oh, you found some good sale yarn". Like I could only afford their yarn that is on sale for a whopping 30 percent off. ?? I enjoyed what I bought, though.

This store was my first introduction to knitting (my first class and purchase of natural fiber) and I really liked it for a while. But recently, it seems every time I am in (maybe once every 6 or 8 weeks) I often witness a manager (maybe?) openly rude/snooty to an employee (as though the customers can't see or hear). I wonder if this is a top-down thing, as its rarely the same folks. I've always been treated great, but this is a huge turn-off and I feel awkward for the employee. There maybe performance issues, but keep it private.
