Ok it's a bit of an adventure to find but well worth the effort. I stopped by Hearthstone years ago looking for cross stitch items, zippo of course. I filed the place away in a far corner of my mind and here some ten years later I decide to take up knitting. Guess where I headed straight away? You'll find everything you want here and even though the store appears to be on the small side it's deceptively well stocked. The staff are some of the happiest, friendliest people you're likely to meet in any retail environment. They live, eat and breathe knitting in this place. Stop by and browse sometime. You'll be impressed and maybe you'll find a new knitting friend or two.

Georgia and the crew at Hearthstone Knits are very friendly and helpful - and crochet-friendly which is sometimes hard to find. She hosts the monthly meetings of the St. Louis Crochet Club (knitters welcome!). The yarns are very yummy and the teapot is always on. Seating around a nice large table is very nice. Lots of yarns, supplies, books, and patterns - and always the best of help choosing yarns or working through a problem. Prices are very competitive. This is my fave LYS.
