Unique yarns - they are fun to knit with and beautiful to look at. I've made numerous garments.

The selection is out of the ordinary and absolutely incredible for lace knitters, but allow a lot of time to sort out the somewhat confusing display. The service is extremely attentive but can be very un-rushed to the point of being slow.

A must see for out-of-towners. Gracious staff, and amazing yarns!!!!! These are Japanese yarns, many are made from unusual materials; paper, very fine stainless steel, bamboo, etc. You will see things here that no one else is manufacturing. A small and elegant space, well worth the trip.

Very unusual shop! The yarn is displayed in baskets on the floor. Very clean and minimalist. The staff were gracious, but did not speak English very well, so were unable to assist me much with questions. I got a major score on a yarn I've been looking for for a particular pattern for years. A must see!

I love going to Habu! Many of the yarns are suitable for weaving so they are very thin, but can easily be doubled or tripled to gain a larger gauge (and the prices are good enough to be able to afford to do that). For lace knitters, this place is a paradise! The yarns feature out-of-the-ordinary fibers and they all have very unique textures. Definitely worth the trip! They also offer to wind the skein onto a cone for a $3 fee which is well worth it when purchasing some of the more delicate yarns. Every time I go to NYC I always look forward to going here!

Not my cup of tea, but if you are into thin yarn, this is the place for you.
