There are nicer yarn stores in this city and in this neighborhood. (Who sells a beginner mercerized cotton when she TELLs them she's making a washcloth?)

SO RUDE! Lady was perfectly nice until I said I had a budget and didn't want wool (we're vegans AND allergic) -- then she acted cold & snobby. What a joke! Their stock is very limited, very expensive and not even beautiful. I'd never go there again.

There is a great selection of yarn and the owner was VERY nice and friendly helping me select yarn and pair it nicely. I would definately return to this store the next time I am in NY.

This is an extremely strange yarn store. I went in there intending to buy sock needles, and to maybe pick up some yarn if I saw anything I liked. I didn't. They acted nice enough when I told them I was only looking for needles, but when they didn't have what I was looking for, they seemed completely unconcerned and unhelpful. When I left, I tried to say goodbye, and they completely ignored me. Not friendly at all!
Also, while I was there, a new knitter was trying to buy some yarn for her first project. The owners told her what to make, and gave her homework to make a gauge swatch so they could write her a personalized pattern. I think this is a cool idea, but at the same time, really weird how pushy they were about it, as if she couldn't possibly learn how to knit on her own without their guidance.

I stopped into this shop on my last trip to NYC. I wasn't sure what to expect, so I wasn't impressed nor disappointed! The shop is a very small one-room shop. I was surprised at the selection of yarn and books. I found some really cute Artful Yarn that I hadn't seen before. I was expecting it to be outrageously expensive and was surprised enough that I bought an extra skein!
I didn't really want a lot of attention, because I hate when I go into a small boutique and I don't buy anything and the sales person gives you that look! But they ladies were very friendly, they were helping others on their projects, and looking up patterns! There was a lot going on in that little place!
I would go again!
