I love this place.
I, unfortunatley, need to go to the hospital an a semi annual basis for some tests. I find myself getting excited when it is time to make my appointment because I actually have an excuse to visit Gifted.
They are a fairly small shop that has a very good selection of yarn, needles, and books. As a male knitter, I often get the "cold shoulder" at yarn stores. NOT HERE! The staff is incredibly friendly, especially Pam.
If you find at or near Royal Oak Beaumont, definetly stop in.

I haven't made it here yet but am giving a thumbs up for the friendly, helpful response to a phone call. Plus they are the only LYS in metro Detroit that carries Bryspun flexible circulars, wonderful needles for the cotton yarn I'm working with now, or for anyone encountering joint or muscle aches from knitting. They didn't have my desired size currently in stock, but I'll be sure to visit to get more sizes when I get a chance.

I enjoyed the first visit. However, in a hospital it can be stressful. On a break from the ICU I went to the shop. I just wanted to quietly look at yarn and patterns. There's a table at the back of the shop. There were 4 hens sitting around it who did more talking about other women than knitting. It was unpleasant. I wanted to tell them to close their mouths. I found respite at the Starbucks nearby and haven't gone back.

my best friend and i visited the shop today and were very happy with all the fun and beautiful yarns to gaze at! the staff is wonderful! and to the comment before me about hens talking...its a yarn shop true..in a hospital even more true....perhaps that was their way to relieve the stress of what they were going through. maybe you should have asked them to keep it down , done in a nice way most women will totally agree...not realizing how loud they may be at the moment...so i say to you dear yarn shopper give this wonderful little shop another chance...remember never judge a book by its cover....i for one will be back many times to shop! thank you to this wonderful shop!

Yesterday I spent over two hours nourishing my soul in this wonderful shop and of course came away with several new projects too. I can hardly wait to go there again. If a friendly helpful place with wonderful fiber is what one is looking for than this is the place.

Are you really closing?

Hello –
Gee, from that last comment in October, I must first say I hope you're still open ... a knit shop in a hospital seems like a FABULOUS idea! I'll send my request, in case the closing was just a bad rumor ...
The Trendsetter website said you MIGHT POSSIBLY have some of their Bouquet yarn hanging around … hoping you do.
I’m looking specifically for the periwinkle/blue/lavender & will take what you have even if it’s only one.
Many thanks for any help …
