Ewe-Nique Knits is my favorite yarn store. The store employees are friendly and they have a great selection (including spinning wheels and roving).

It's amazing how much yarn they've crammed into the tiny space! I've never had a negative experience there. I dropped in a couple of weeks ago, literally a minute to closing (construction delay), and they were gracious and helpful. I needed yarn for two projects, but didn't want to delay them any more than I have to, so I just grabbed one. One of the associates encouraged me to take a couple of minutes and walked me across the hall to find the second yarn.

This is a wonderful store in downtown Royal Oak. They have friendly staff, a large selection of yarn, and more variety of needles than I've seen anywhere. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
My only complaint is that they are not open on Sundays, when I usually get a chance to go LYS hopping.

Ditto what the KnittingScotsman said. I, too, would love for them to be open Sundays.

Maybe it's just me, but I've never had good service here. I'm usually ignored, and unless I'm spending my whole check the staff doesn't talk to me. The last time I went there, I took my mom with me because they have the largest selection in the area. My mom had commented that they [the staff] suddenly got friendly when they realized how much she was spending.

I love this shop! The staff is always eager to help and offer advice. I will go there before any other shop in the area because you feel so welcome when you walk in the door.

I've always felt welcomed at this shop, and find the staff very willing to help with yardage calculations for substitutions, color selection, and the like.

Like every shop, if there are a bunch of regular shoppers in the store the casual visitor will get less attention. Generally a friendly place. Classes offerings generally include something a bit different than the other Detroit area shops
