I am a very ' phasic' knitter----(meaning I get into knitting and then get out for sometimes months or even years. No matter, I go into Creative Yarns and there is 'NINA' just as welcoming , upbeat and helpful as ever, despite my absence. You can always expect the atmosphere to be warm and conducive to sit'n knit and the conversation to be always informative and sometimes just plan fun!

Guaranteed that you will always leave the store with a sense of well-being!!!! (and feel lucky that you made such a discovery!!!

Today after spending weeks looking for a silver yarn of which I originally bought a large spool many years ago, no idea were I bought it, well it ran out and I needed some more I happened to come across this site on line, called the owner Nina, and to make a long story as short as possible, I took the TTC across town which was a bit of a trip, arrived in the store to be welcomed by Nina as "you may be the person who called about the silver yarn" she showed me a few yarns, not the same,..... fortunately I had brought a sample of my christmas tree decoration a fish, made with silver yarn, she said aha, I have just the thing for you, she went into the store room came out with the exact yarn I had been looking for for so long, the one Nina had is a Rowan "shimmer"
it was the only ball she had, off course I bought it, while checking out, and getting ready for my crosstown trip home I asked Nina if there was a coffee shop near by, guess what? Nina serves coffee in her store!!!, well life does not get much better. Nina made my day, I highly recommend the trip across town, as Nina makes sweaters to order and they look super, the choices of yarn are unbelievable, no doubt if you don't see it there she would order it for you. Thanks again Nina!

oops pushed the wrong button......I live downtown Toronto, took the TTC to Ellesmere Rd which is a major trip in itself, arrived at Nina's fantastic store, she is a charming lady, and guess what? she had one ball of the very same yarn I had bought years ago, in the back of her store, it simply made my day, while checking out, I asked Nina if there was a coffee shop in the neighborhood, to prepare myself for the trip home, Nina offered me a great cup of coffee which she keeps in the store, life does not get much better, it may be a bit out of the way, but so worth every minute of traveling, either by car, or in my case by the TTC.

Several years ago I purchased a large spool of silver yarn ran out, searched everywere, even had some sent from Texas, simply not the same, today I decided one more time, check online for metallic yarn, up pops Nina's site, gave her a call, sort of described what I

Nina has excellent taste when it comes to buying yarn for the shop. You will find everything from alpaca to linen to silk to cashmere. Don't see your colour, Nina will special order for you. The atmosphere is so friendly. Coffee is offered on the house as well as munchies. The couches and women (some men) are welcoming for a morning or afternoon or all day knit.

Even though I have moved from Toronto, Creative Yarns is such a good shop. Nina is very knowledgeable and I love her philosophy that mistakes are not mistakes, just a new pattern.

Always comfortable she encourages her customers to stay and knit for awhile by offering tea or coffee. The selection of yarns / needles is a nice variety. All in all a store that I would suggest to anyone in her area of Toronto.

Whether you pop in once a month, once a week or everyday, you are made to feel like home here. Yarns fit a variety of budgets and needs. There is always friendly advise at your asking, or you can browse the many books and yarn at your leisure. Come sit on a comfy couch with your hook or needles and you just may never go anywhere else, including home

Coffee, snacks and the loo are an added bonus, plus they run classes.
