"After selling my business of 18 years (a temp agency) and ending a career of high stress, long hours and sleepless nights, I vowed that my next career would be one in which I was passionate about and WAS FUN! I’ve found that passion.
I never really had the pleasure of enjoying hobbies while in the corporate world, so when I learned to knit just 3 years ago it literally consumed me. That’s why I decided to share my passion by opening Cottage Yarn in May, 2005.

The first time I went to this shop, I had no idea that my cousin was the owner. Imagine my surprise! It's cool to find a relative involved in the same craft. I love to go to the Cottage to sit and knit and relax. And the gorgeous yarn helps too!

The people who work at Cottage Yarn are friendly and willing to help but will also let you browse. The store is attractive with the yarn in different rooms in the house. A very enjoyable shopping experience.

Cottage Yarn is the one yarn store in the area where I feel like I have actual room to breathe. There's enough space for the yarn to be well organized, and enough sources of natural light to see what it really looks like. Not to mention the sale porch!

i love yarn and i love knitting it is so much fun , i have alot of yarn but not that pretty as i saw in the picture

... it is so nice to have a down-home business like Cottage Yard in Mint Hill! It is stores like these that make out town feel unique, family-oriented and friendly.

I LOVE YOUR YARN SHOP. I WANT TO TAKE A KNITTING CLASS FOR BEGINNERS. I CAN DO A CLASS ON MON. OR TUES. ANY TIME. I DO NO HOW TO PURL AND KNIT BUT I DONT NO HOW TO DECREASE OR ADD. SO PLEASE LET ME NO YOUR NEXT CLASS. IM SO GLAD I FOUND YOUR SHOP I WILL BE SEEING YOU SOON. LINDA ATKINSON
