Stacey and the girls over at Colorful are great!! They have some of my favorite brands (Tilli Thomas, Malabrigo, etc) over there. I love that they are open 7 days a week!! That is a huge plus. I highly recommend stopping in and checking them out.

Carmin is always friendly and helpful. Great selection of yarn and books. Also has good light. Knit on

it seems that STRING, A KNITTING BOUTIQUE has closed up shop. they have taken their site off KnitMap and probably will be liquidating their inventory and closing the business. they have had some real management problems over the past year and the overheads in Highlands Ranch are just too high to turn a profit. too bad. String, Strang, Strung. bye bye

Whomever is posting this incorrect information regarding other knitting stores has a real character flaw! Please don't involve other stores in your personal problems!

Well, for the second time in 4 days, the STRING BOUTIQUE has taken itself off the Denver knitting knitmap list. What is it hiding???

I love this store and since the closing of YarnArts in Parker it will be my first choice of places to go. It is so warm and friendly and they carry a great selection of yarn.

Gotta love this store and their vast selection of beautiful yarn. Friendly and casual atmosphere. Also, it's located next to the remodeled South Glen Mall, with fabulous stores, which will be reopening soon. A one stop shopping excursion!

UPDATE: for the third time in 6 days, the STRING BOUTIQUE has taken itself off the KnitMap list (check for yourself). If they can't even keep a shop lising up on KnitMap, how in the world can they keep a real store open? Symptomatic of that shop, isn't it? (in addition to calling their knitting customers "gaggles of gossipy women") hmmm, why would they treat their customers that way? No way to run a shop IMHO.

Maybe because they have a psycho stalker off her meds? Keep it to yourself nutty

Another classic expample of how a String employee refers to their customers. Jules, Jules, Jules, SHAME ON YOU !!!
By anonymous on Saturday, August 09, 2008 at 09:43AM PDT
I don't know who "Jules" is, but I would not call you a "customer".
By anonymous on Saturday, August 09, 2008 at 12:06PM PDT
Why not post your name anonymous? You're the only one posting nasty things, so why wouldn't you show yourself? And who is "Jules"? I'm pretty sure the webmaster for knitmap didn't have this in mind when they started this site, and I'm sure Colorful Yarns doesn't appreciate this much either. String was wise to take themselves off this site if this was what they had to deal with, do you not have anything else to do? Shame on YOU.

watch out, Jules, or i will OUT you, with photos, LOL

You know who Jules is so don't be dumb. String is really strang strung bye bye. Colorful Yarns is a great store with a cozy feel and lots of great yarn with great employees. String has lousy customer service anymore with a pushy snooty owner.

I'll bet this "knitter" once loved String, too! Watch out Colorful Yarn!

I logged on to this site to post some reviews of Denver area shops that I visited recently only to find these bizarre threads posted. This is so unfortunate! I visited Denver and found out about your local yarn stores from this site, and I have to say that had these bizarre, spiteful, very personal comments been here when I was trying to figure out where to go, I probably wouldn't have gone to any of these shops. I would have thought these stores are a haven for insensitive, selfish, immature antics and would have avoided them. It's completely inconsiderate to the store owner, potential out of town customers/visitors, and all clientele. I hope these comments get cleaned up off this site, it is so unfortunate.
That being said, I really enjoyed my visit to this shop. I felt no sales pressure, which is important to me, I hate being followed around a shop. I enjoyed the yarn selection and atmosphere. It does look like it's in an office building, so don't let the location spook you, it's a great little store!

Great store, my favorite in the area, along with String in Highlands Ranch and HollyBerry in the Springs.
HUGE selection of yarn, great knitting bags, needles lots of stuff on sale all the time. Best selection of laceweight yarns I've ever seen.

Great store with lots of different yarns. I enjoy this store a lot.

My favorite yarn store, hands down, in the Denver area! It's a small store, but it's packed with yarn, books and an outstanding selection of needles. The owner will order anything you can't find there. Great sales on a regular basis and always the newest yarns. I love that I can browse through their selection, but have someone ready to help me when I need help or am ready to check out. Open 7 days a week!

Love this store!! Staff is so great and nice. I wish I found them sooner. I didn't know they were there until I went to this site.
AND FYI, String, A Knitting Boutique in Highlands Ranch is not closing. I have been going into that shop on a weekly basis. I take classes there. Before assuming they closed you may actually want to refer to their website instead of this one. I don't intend that to sound rude, but I felt that odd that a post states they closed, when they have not. How odd is that? Spread rumors that are not true. And the staff is super friendly. Granted I have been in there a lot lately, but most of the staff knows my name. And they hold items for you. That kind of customer service doesn't seem to exist anymore. Love it.
