Was soooooooooooooo disappointed - drove 120 mi roundtrip today to visit this shop with a friend, and they were closed for inventory!!!! On a Saturday, 1:30pm!!!! Clever Ewe not only missed our business, but also business from the other two ladies who were right behind us. They too were seriously disappointed.
Nothing wrong with doing an inventory, but on a Saturday that they advertised they are open from 10 - 3? There was nothing on their website to indicate they'd be closed. My friend and I had three projects between us we wanted to buy for, but that didn't happen at Clever Ewe.

Like loongirl, we drove quite a ways to visit Clever Ewe, but unlike her, we had a really excellent experience at this delightful shop in Ada. The staff was incredibly nice both to me (an out of town knitting obsessive) and my companion (a local non-knitter who was along to enable me and to fondle softness). Their selection is very nice, and I liked the setup of the shop itself. I'm jealous of the GR/Ada locals who get to call this pleasant little place their LYS, and I'll be back again in the future while visiting West Michigan.

This shop has a large selection of yarns, but it is very disorganized and often hard to find things. And help is generally available only if you ask, and then they seem a bit overwhelmed themselves. I went in looking for a sweater's worth of a particular yarn, and while they had many colors available in sufficient quantities of the yarn I was looking for (according to their computer), they weren't able to locate the actual yarn! Customer service here leaves a lot to be desired, and I never feel very welcome at this shop.
