I spend a lot of time at this place! There is a table in back for just sitting and sewing and when the place isn't so busy (its more busy around the holidays) the staff are happy to chat through a project with you. There is just a TON of yarn and fabric to choose from and they carry wood straights, addi turbos and a full line of lantern moon needles. Oh, and the bags are to die for. I often by gifts for "non-crafties" here!

I wish that I could get to this place more often! Seems like my time at Brooklyn General is relegated to summer Fridays and occasional weekends when I'm not at my boyfriend's. I love the atmosphere, the yarns, the fabrics and I always leave there feeling quite inspired!

Best store in Brooklyn hands down. Fiber is current and the atmosphere is relaxing. Good food in the neighborhood too.

Brooklyn General is a fantastic store. The owners are as lovely and helpful as the selection of yarns is big. They also have a large selection of really beautiful fabrics. And, the space is roomy and comfortable.
