The Birch Tree Gallery has become a favorite stop while visiting family in the Soldotna area! They have a large selection of needles and patterns and, while they don't have a huge selection of yarn, we've never "not found" what we were looking for, nor have we ever left empty handed. The fibers they carry are special and varied. The gallery offers quality art pieces - visit their website for picture. Definitely worth the stop! (Open Year Round!)

The Birch Tree is a wonderful and tastefully decorated store. The knitting merchandise is extra special with reasonalbe prices and beautiful samples to show how they knit up. The owner/operator is a person who knows her yarns and accessories and only carries the best. She was there to greet the customers and to answer questions from her many years in the needle work field. The art and hand made items that are shown continue the attractive setting and have a real "Alaska" feel. I was in the area two weeks and was at the store three times to buy interesting and beautiful yarn and accessories. I also liked seeing the special hand made items as they were grist for creative ideas.
You won't be disapointed in this small but beautifully decorated and adorned shop for both knitters/crocheters and people who like special hand made crafts. I will visit here every time I am in the area and have no hesitation to suggest this store to others.
