Notes
Inventors of "yarn tasting" (according to their website). They've got bins along one of the walls where you can test any of their yarns with some needles. They have about five chairs arranged in a circle for you to try these yarns too. All the yarns they sell are their own brand, so don't go looking for any Borroco, however, a lot of their yarns are quite luscious.

Their yarns are absolutely fabulous and are definitely unique. My favorite part about this store is that they allow you to do a test swatch before you buy the yarn, this way you can see if it will work for your project or if it behaves the way you'd like it to. They have nice comfy chairs you can sit down in and a huge selection of needles to use so you can test out different gauges and yarns to find just the one you are looking for. I'll definitely be heading back the next time I'm in SF

Store is extremly small, and they only carry their brand of yarns, which can make your choices very limited. Make sure to check out the sales rack in the back.

This is a very unique yarn store. They manufacture all of their own yarns in European upholstery mills. You will not find a store exactly like this one anywhere else--if you're visiting San Francisco, I definitely recommend stopping here for a one-of-a-kind experience.

I stopped in on a business trip rather quickly before my flight left. It seemed like the kind of place where, if I'd had the time, I could have spent the rest of the day there. The lady was super nice. She ordered the yarn I wanted in a colorway i couldn't find in the bins and sent it this week!

This is definitely a one of a kind yarn store in the middle of downtown SF. It's a small store but it's still overwhelming with all the different choices. Because they have their own brand of yarns it's great that they have "yarn tastings" to test out their yarns. They encourage you to knit some swatches and sometimes even keep them. They can even customize a pattern for you for free when you buy the yarn for it there. I've found the customer service very friendly (even when they're busy) and their prices are reasonable. I took a continental knitting class there a few months ago and the instructor was great.

This is a one of a kind yarn store. Yarn is on cones, they will weigh out the amount you need....the selection is totally amazing. They have a website but it is much more exciting to visit and see and touch everything. Kira Dulaney is the store manager, so helpful....she also designs patterns. You can sit and make swatches; they also have story boards, where they have already knit up different types of swatches so you can see how they look alone, or mixed with other yarns. Very inspirational store!!
