It seems awkward that you can't order their wool online and that you have to travel all the way to london just to buy designer wool.

^ It is indeed a good shop though.

It's a cute store and their wool selection is pretty good but they don't have much in the way of notions or patterns. Also, I found all the odd trinkets a bit distracting.

LOVE All the Fun of the Fair. It's a quirky little shop set off London's trendy Carnaby Street and it's probably the only London yarn shop I can think of that thinks outside the box of selling run of the mill stuff. You can buy the coolest buttons and bit there as well as tons of eye-popping wool.
It's got fun stuff like knitted cakes and knitting greetings cards too.
The owner and staff are the loveliest people. They're friendly and helpful as soon as you arrive.
All the Fun of the Fair also helped our with S&B London's Breast Cancer Care Blanket in 2008 helping to raise loads of money for the charity. Fabulous.

As an American traveling in a foreign country I found this place a breath of fresh air. Its not your ordinary yarn shop at all. It is fun and quirky and you'll find all kinds of treasures there and a lot of it isn't yarn. They had a fun collection of buttons and all kinds of handknitted cakes and doodads as well as felt. I ended up with a velvet christmas pudding ornament, some mini mochi colors I had never seen and some blocking pins.

I made a special journey to visit but it was closed even though it was normal opening hours. Apparently having a sort out. . . There were two people sitting in there studiously avoiding me peering in the window!
Extremely disappointing. Not a good idea to be closed when you are supposed to be open.

Hi all, just to let you know we are definitely still open despite the above comment!

Their websites states the shop is open Sundays in November and December. I was staying near the shop in London on Sunday 4th November so thought I would pop in. The shop was closed. To be fair the sign in the window did not say they open on Sundays. It does look like a nice little shop.
