This is a nice store with good selection, but the service can sometimes be lacking.

The service is iffy...if they acknowledge you, if they follow up after a question has been asked, if they act like they are glad to have your business, if they 'teach' after you sign up for a class...too many ifs for me.

This store is VERY hard to find! It's on the 'back-side' of the Tigard Plaza mall, facing 88th Ave., just North of Center St (all of this is North of Pacific Hwy-99). The selection of various yarns, and mixed fibers is great! They have many many needles/hooks of varying materials too. I was offered help more than once, by more than one person - must've been a good day! :) I was there during a mid-day knitting circle. Folks were helping each other with patterns, and some had brought pastries to share. Accessibility: parking right up to the door, small curb. Inside there were level changes within the store in 4 places - watch your step!

I have no idea what anyone is talking about the ify service. I purchased some yarn and ordered more. I was called back right away that the yarn company was out of business but given all kinds of assistance in finding the yarn and of course was offered a full refund. I found the yarn, which was perfect for the project and I couldn't have without the wonderful service I was given. Not only was it good service but friendly service and a fun group of knitters who helped me as well. This is a great place.

This shop is hard to find. They need more signage at the entrance to the strip mall they are in. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their products. Their teachers are wonderful especially with Judy Becker (Judy's magic cast on) teaching toe up socks.
The store could use air conditioning to make it confortable in the summer.

No problem with service for me! I visited during the Portland Yarn Crawl and the staff was 'Johnny on the spot'! I appreciated all the knitted samples - I find that really helps me pick patterns and yarn. They had great store-wide specials for the Crawl as well as a generous ongoing sale section. Yes, the location is funky, but well worth the effort to find for their variety and selection!

Visited them recently on the 2011 PDX Knit Crawl! My sister and I visited all twenty stores in two days! Even though I knew where it was in my head i must have spaced the name and when following knitmap's directions, I got lost. Seriously, I didn't realize that was the shop that was being referenced by the address.
I've been in here many times, and the staff is always helpful, but not pressuring. I love their selection of yarns, and it's seems that even with using the hallway as a display area, that they are outgrowing their space.
I give them my "Hardest to Find, but Definitely Worth the Search" award. Though it's in a weird little space, it's really a great store.

I do not have a comment except to say that your shop us really hard to find !!!!!
zzzzi livr in turner, Oregon about 45 miles from Tigard. We tried to find you but gave up and I haven't been up there since. Now that I know you are close to the tigard Theater I think that we will have brtter luck.
What i am looking for is jamisons lace yarn called cobweb. I have been using it for
many years for all of my lace. Nothing compares with this yarn, it works up so sheer it is a dream. I am hoping that I can find 4-5 skeins of red for a large shawl. I was in contact with the yarn shop in Yamhill called Woodland Woolworks ( They are closing their doors on June 15th, 2811. They informed me that the jamieson Cob weight wool will no longer be filing orders to USA shops, This caught me unawares so i am trying to find a knitting shop that carries Jamieson yarn and has the red very fine cobweb. Do you by aby chse have what I need or know of other shops that I can contact to try and find the yarn I need? If you can contact me ASAP I might be able and lucky enough to find some shop that has what I need.
I would really beinterested to know who distributes Jamieson Shetland Wool in the US if you wouldn't mind telling me. many years ago I wrote to them and they were nice enough to respond to my letter and I was able to send payment to them and get snough Cobweb yarn to make several ecru shawls. Do you think they would still send to me if they had it in stock? I don't even have their address any more.
I would be so happy if you could help me. Do you have any finer than fine weight that
would work as well? Maybe I can get something as nice as the jamieson from you.
Awaiting your kind reply. Sincerely, Dixie L. Falls

Dixie, according to what I've read on their blog, Jamieson's is no longer selling their cobweb yarn through distributors anywhere, they only sell it through their Web site http://www.shetlandwoolbrokers.co.uk . They ship to the US and take PayPal. Hope this helps ... Cindy
